Thanks to the significant contributions of more than 25,000 individuals from across New England, Breaking New Ground: The Campaign for WGBH came to a close December 31, 2007, having brought in an extraordinary $64 million—a new record for a WGBH capital campaign, and far above our original goal of $40 million.
This extraordinary outpouring of support
- Enabled WGBH's relocation to new, fully digital, "green" studios in Boston's Brighton neighborhood. Take a look or learn about our studio tours and on-site events.
- Built an endowment to offset any additional operating costs arising from our new facility.
- Funds strategic opportunities arising from WGBH's expanded creative and technical capacities, and
- Created The Becton Fund, honoring Henry Becton, Jr.'s remarkable 38-year tenure at WGBH, 24 as president. WGBH gratefully continues to accept contributions to this Fund, and we invite your interest in carrying on the production excellence that has been the hallmark of this public media visionary.
New strength...new possibilities...a new standard for philanthropy—thanks to the generosity of benefactors whose investments enable WGBH's enduring accomplishments.
Let us help you shape the future of public media here in New England and across the United States with a gift to WGBH.
